Summer Soda Tasting is July 31, 2016

Summer Soda Tasting invites soda-lovers of all ages to sample a wide selection of carbonated bubbly beverages. This year’s selections include delicious offerings from Bedford’s of Port Angeles, WA; the extensive line of amazing Australian sodas from Bickford’s; fantastic French sodas from Rieme; sparkling indulges from Zedazeni which hails from the Republic of Georgia; and the line of sodas from the historic Route 66 Soda line.  In addition, side-by-side challenges will allow sippers to compare brands of black cherry, cream soda and more.

Kids ages 6-12 can enter a Burp-Off Competition; winners will be decided by audience applause. The Best Burpers will receive Galco’s gift certificates. Participation is free. Burp-Off Contest is at 5:45pm; and if needed, 6:45pm. In addition, kids 12 and younger will automatically receive an opportunity to craft their own soda at Galco’s Soda Creation Station for free.

Entertainment at Summer Soda Tasting 6 includes musical sets from:
Ted Garcia (5pm) of the Tatviam tribe of Northern LA County will conduct a Native American blessing followed by words and songs.
Banna Beag Mall (6pm) , an eclectic Celtic-American group that plays Scottish/Irish traditionals along with classic rock, Latin, folk, Louisiana heritage, world and children’s music.
Guitarist David Holguin (7pm) who will perform Flamenco style tunes.

As always, Galco’s Summer Soda Tasting 6 is a fundraiser for the Friends of the Southwest Museum Coalition that is working to re-open Los Angeles’ first museum as well as the Casa de Adobe to display portions of the museum’s spectacular collections.
